Mystras

Mystras was the Byzantine state of the Peloponnese and is six kilometers north of Sparta. Today, it is mostly ruined, although some buildings have been restored, such as the palaces, and it is a valuable source of knowledge of the history, art and culture of the last two centuries of Byzantium.
